In 2019 Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta announced a new approach to delivering the very best skills and vocational training for young people in Western Sydney.
In line with this new approach from 2020, Loyola Senior High, Mt Druitt and McCarthy Catholic Trade Training Centres, Emu Plains became part of CathWest Innovation College.
A response to changes in the way we live and work, CathWest Innovation College was designed to provide exciting new opportunities for students from Year 10. Building on the achievements of both Trade Training Centres as well as Loyola Senior High, CathWest offers exciting new options for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. McCarthy Catholic Trade Training Centre in Emu Plains became the McCarthy Campus of CathWest Innovation College, and Loyola in Mount Druitt is now known as CathWest Innovation College, Loyola Campus.
With innovative pathways for students alongside the current trade training pathway, CathWest Innovation College has a strong focus on developing skills for success. Professional mentoring, industry partnerships, workplace placements and recognised qualifications support this learning.
Nearing the end of its first year the college continues to build on its vision for the future, establishing new and exciting business partnerships to benefit students, exploring new ways of delivering educational experiences and utilising the impressive facilities the college now boasts. Short courses and adult education are among the possibilities for the future and CathWest invites you to be part of our journey and our vibrant learning community.
