Our Industry pathway students are up to Lesson 3 of the YES Program — TAFE’s Youth Engagement Strategy, giving high school students the opportunity to explore potential career pathways through fun, hands-on taster courses. So far, our students have been busy bringing their creativity to life! After sketching out their own house designs, they’ve now moved on to the exciting stage of transforming those plans into ceramic models. 🏗️🎨 Some fantastic ideas are taking shape — it’s been incredible to see their imagination, problem-solving, and innovation skills in action. Remembrance Day At 11am on Remembrance Day each year, Australians pause for one minute of silence to remember and honour all those who have served, suffered, or lost their lives in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. At CathWest, we will join together in observing this minute of silence as a mark of respect and gratitude. 🏁 In the Spotlight 🏆 After years of competing in speedway go-karting, Aidan’s dedication and hard work have paid off! Yesterday, he was crowned State Title – Speedway Pro Standard Heavy Champion. 🙌 🔥 On a scorching day at Nepean Raceway, Aidan started in 4th position, took the lead, and finished the race in 1st place! He’ll proudly hold the No.1 title for the next 12 months until he returns to defend his title next year. 🥇🚦 Congratulations Aidan! 👏👏 #nswspeedwaykartclub #nepeanraceway

✨ Charli from our Trade pathway recently completed her work experience with Qantas. It was an exciting week that included learning about Qantas history, touring the Domestic Airport, hearing from engineering experts, taking part in a flight mapping activity, and chatting with cabin crew. Inspired by aviation pioneer Nancy Bird Walton, who would have celebrated her 110th birthday today, Charli is ambitiously pursuing a future career as an aviation engineer - we look forward to watching Charli progress, as she takes flight in completing her schooling here at CathWest. ✈️👏 . ⭐On Thursday 4th September, the Bishop of Parramatta Awards for Student Excellence was held at St Patrick's Cathedral. This prestigious award is presented to one Year 12 student from each Catholic school in the Parramatta Diocese. 🎓 Congratulations to Meghan our worthy recipient of this award, always demonstrating excellence! 🤩🥳 Meghan is a proud Nyemba woman, who is a dedicated and passionate leader. Meghan exemplifies servant leadership through her commitment to community, culture, and faith. As a valued member of the CathWest Student Leadership Team, she actively fosters a positive and inclusive school culture. A founding member of the FIAT team, Meghan has led fundraising and outreach initiatives, including attending the 2025 Project Compassion launch. As a Murama Ranger with Jarara, Meghan represents and uplifts First Nations students and allies, sharing cultural knowledge with the CSPD and CathWest communities and Elders from many Nations. She also has responsibility for leading workshops at the Murama Youth Summit and initiated the College Healing Project’s First Nations mural.
