🚀 Future Careers. Big Ideas. Powerful Connections! 🤖✨ Four of our incredible Year 10 students stepped outside the classroom and into the world of innovation at the Women Leading AI Conference, led by the amazing Amanda Rose from Western Sydney Women. 💜 With career aspirations spanning Electrotechnology, Travel and Tourism, and Diesel Mechanics, our students discovered that AI is transforming every industry, and our students were ready to learn, connect and be inspired! 🌟 The conference theme "Connect. Scale. Grow. " was brought to life through inspiring conversations with AI leaders from across a range of industries. And our students didn’t just listen… they networked! 🙌 They confidently introduced themselves, asked questions, made connections and took every opportunity to engage with dynamic and influential leaders. 👏 We are SO proud of their networking skills, confidence and willingness to step outside their comfort zones. Who knows where those new connections might lead? 🌏💡 This is what career learning looks like at CathWest — connecting our students with industry, inspiring possibilities and building the skills to thrive in the future of work. 💙 Interested in starting a career pathway while completing your HSC? Huge congratulations to all the incredible nominees and winners at the Schools Industry Partnership Annual Awards! 🎉 Gathering at St Mary’s Leagues Club on September 1st, we celebrated the standout students who made a serious impression during their workplace placements this year. Nominated directly by their host employers, these students proved that the future of our workforce is in great hands. A special highlight of the event was having Penrith Mayor Todd Carney and Karen McKeown MP present the awards to our deserving recipients, recognising their hard work and dedication alongside the community. To the employers who mentor our youth, and the students who showed up and gave it their all—thank you and congratulations! 🙌 #SIP #FutureWorkforce #StudentSuccess #StMarys @penrithcitycouncil @Penrith City Council #SIP #FutureWorkforce #StudentSuccess #stmarys @stmarysleagues

Protecting children is everyone’s business. 💙 Child Protection Week is a reminder that looking out for the young people in our lives isn't just up to parents—it's a shared community effort. Every child deserves to grow up safe, supported, and heard. Thriving kids build thriving communities, and even the smallest action makes a difference. You can help create a safer environment today by: Checking in: Reach out to a family member, neighbour, or friend who might need a helping hand. Listening closely: Give the children in your life your full attention and validate their feelings. Speaking up: Learn the signs of harm and know where to seek help if something doesn't feel right. Getting involved: Support local youth initiatives, schools, or community groups. What’s one small action you can take this week to support a child or family in your community? #ChildProtectionWeek #EveryChildEveryCommunity #ItTakesAVillage #ChildSafety #communitysupport

🔨Celebrating National Skills Week⚡ What an incredible buzz at our McCarthy campus for National Skills Week! In line with this year's official theme—Life Changing—we had the privilege of welcoming visiting students from across the region to step into our workshops for an action-packed Trade Taster Day. Instead of sitting in a traditional classroom, students rolled up their sleeves, picked up the tools, and discovered how practical learning can open up a world of potential across four high-demand industries: 🪚 Carpentry – Framing, timber work, and construction basics ⚡ Electrotechnology – Circuit design, wiring concepts, and electrical safety 🚰 Plumbing – Pipe assembly, fluid systems, and fittings 🚜 Civil Construction – Infrastructure fundamentals, equipment, and scaffolding At CathWest Innovation College, we know that developing hands-on, real-world capabilities gives young people the confidence and experience to build rewarding futures. Days like this give students a clear taste of what a VET pathway, apprenticeship, or traineeship can offer before they even finish school. Looking for an education that combines HSC with hands on learning & employment. If your student is entering Year 10 or Year 11 and wants a tailored educational journey that equips them with life-changing skills, CathWest is where their journey begins. 👉 Visit our website to explore our learning pathways and find out more: https://cathwest.parra.catholic.edu.au/ #NationalSkillsWeek #LifeChanging #CathWest #EmuPlains #TradeTaster #SchoolDoneDifferent #VocationalEducation #FutureTrades #WesternSydneyEducation #VETInSchools @nationalskillsweek @catholicschoolsparra #catholicschoolsparramattadiocese #nationalskillsweek #DayInTheLife

💜 This year’s theme for Bullying No Way Week, “Small Acts, Big Impact” shows us that even little things we do can make someone’s day better. 💜 Bullying affects everyone, not just the person being targeted. If you see it happening, do not ignore it. Your support, even a quiet and simple action, sends a clear message that bullying is not okay. To conclude Term 2, our Year 10 Religion classes joined together for a hands-on activity that helped us better understand what people facing homelessness go through. This experience was designed to link to our Vinnies Winter Appeal and build empathy, encourage teamwork, and shed light on the everyday challenges many people face. 💙Our FIAT leaders did a great job guiding each group by explaining the tasks, offering support, and encouraging everyone to work together. The main challenge was for small groups to create a temporary homeless shelter using only cardboard boxes and a few other materials. With limited supplies, students had to get creative, communicate well, and cooperate to make a shelter that was actually practical. 💜This activity was a powerful reminder of how important it is to work together, solve problems, and show compassion. It gave everyone a chance to reflect on just how tough life can be for those without a home. Annah Conduru, FIAT Leader @vinniesnsw @vinniesyouthnsw

Our Year 12 students came together at our Loyola Campus for an inspiring Encounter Day centred on the theme, "Go and Do Likewise." Throughout the day, students were challenged to consider how they can use their future careers and gifts to serve others.🧑‍🍳👩‍🚒 We were privileged to hear from former diocesan student, Australian Paralympian and Guinness World Record holder Matt Caruana , whose powerful story reminded students that, like the Good Samaritan, we are called to stop and help those in need, while also finding the courage to keep moving forward on our own journey with hope and resilience. "Nothing is Out of Reach". 💙💜 Students also participated in engaging workshops led by Vinnies, The God Squad, Parramatta Mission and Little Wings, exploring practical ways they can use their skills and passions to make a meaningful difference in their communities beyond their high school years. A day of inspiration, reflection and challenge, encouraging our Year 12 students to be the hands and feet of Christ wherever life leads them. @mattshares Matt Shares @vinniesyouthnsw Vinnies NSW Catholic Schools @parracatholic @metparracatholic @littlewingsaustralia @catholicschoolsparra

☕🥤 Year 12 Hospitality Service Success! 🥤☕ Over the last few weeks Year 12 Hospitality students have put their skills into practice by running a beverage service period and inviting Holy Family and Our Lady of the Way parishioners to enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks. This was a fantastic hands-on learning experience, allowing students to develop their customer service, communication, teamwork, and hospitality skills in a real-world setting. We are incredibly proud of the professionalism and enthusiasm they demonstrated throughout the service. The feedback from our customers was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the excellent service and the delicious range of drinks on offer. Well done to all of our Year 12 Hospitality students for making this event such a success! 🌟👏 #Year12Hospitality #LearningByDoing #HospitalitySkills #CustomerService #FutureHospitalityProfessionals #HandsOnLearning #SchoolCommunity Holy Family Parish, Mt Druitt @c@catholicschoolsparra @parramattacatholicservices
