Today, the Catholic Church celebrates Shrove Tuesday, a special feast day that traditionally marks the use of rich pantry ingredients before the season of fasting and reflection during Lent. At our school, we have partnered with Caritas to raise funds for Project Compassion. As you enjoy your pancakes and reflect throughout this Lenten season, we encourage you to consider making a donation to this important cause via compass https://www.projectcompassion.org.au/fundraisers/mariapastoors/host-a-lent-event Caritas Australia @caritasaust @projectcompassionsydney13 Feb 2026

Our Year 12 Leaders and FIAT Team proudly attended the CSPD Caritas Project Compassion Launch today. During the launch, students deepened their understanding of global water inequity β learning that for many communities around the world, access to clean and safe water is still not guaranteed. They reflected on how something we often take for granted is a daily struggle for others, impacting health, education, and opportunity.π±π± Inspired by the message of Project Compassion, our students are committed to turning awareness into action this Lenten season. π°π° They are hopeful to: π§ Lead fundraising initiatives across the school to support Caritas Australia π§ Encourage simple but powerful actions such as mindful water use π§ Promote compassion, solidarity and appreciate the clean water we readily have on tap in Australia. As leaders within our school community, they understand that Lent is not only a time of reflection, but a time to actively live out our faith through service and justice. We are so proud of their commitment to making a difference β both locally and globally. Together, we can be the generation that turns compassion into meaningful change. ππ @catholicschoolsparra #catholicschoolsparramattadiocese @caritasaust #caritasprojectcompassion @faithinaction.au12 Feb 2026

π§β‘ National Apprenticeship & Traineeship Week β‘π§ At CathWest, we are proud to celebrate students like Matt, whose journey highlights the power of exploring pathways early. Now a Year 12 student, Matt commenced at CathWest in Year 10 with a clear goal β he wanted to pursue a trade. Through our Trade Readiness Program in Year 10, Term 1, Matt had the opportunity to explore a range of industries including Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing and Automotive. This hands-on experience gave him the clarity and confidence to discover where his true passion lay β Electrical. Matt reflects, βWe had TAFE teachers visit CathWest sharing their journey as an electrician β from starting out on residential jobs to working on major commercial projects at Western Sydney Airport. Hearing their experiences really inspired me.β Programs like Trade Readiness allow students to make informed decisions, gain industry insight, and connect with real professionals who have walked the path before them. We are proud to see Matt pursuing his goal and stepping confidently toward a career as an electrician working at DDP Electrical. If you have a son or daughter interested in pursing a trade pathway, pop over to our website https://info.parra.catholic.edu.au/open-day/cathwest-innovation-college#form-section to register to attend our Open Day on 3 March or our Open Evenings 28 April, McCarthy or 30 April, Loyola. π Hereβs to all apprentices and trainees taking bold steps toward their futures this week! #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #Traineeships #TradeCareers #CathWest #FutureFocused #PathwaysToSucce #catholicschoolsparramattadiocese @ddpelectrical TAFE NSW #tafensw @catholicschoolsparra #NationalApprenticeshipWeek @westernsydneyairport @nsw.bda11 Feb 2026

π¨ Creativity in Full Swing at CathWest! πΊβ¨ Our students dived into the YES Program: Ceramics & Drawing at TAFE Kingswood this term β and what an explosion of imagination it was! From mastering wheel work and throwing their very own candle pots, to exploring the history of architecture and sketching out their dream homes, students blended creativity with real design thinking. Using 2D drawings to build 3D creations, they began hand-building their dream-home designs, learning essential ceramics techniques along the way β including firing, oxides, underglaze and glazing. To top it all off, students designed themed gift bags to showcase their handcrafted candles. Weβre so proud of the talent, focus and flair our young creators showed throughout the program. The future of design is in great hands! π‘π¨π‘ @tafensw TAFE NSW @catholicschoolsparra @creativityforkidsaustralia Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese09 Dec 2025

Dear Parents and Carers From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms, such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under 16 from creating or keeping accounts. The eSafety Commissioner website has information for parents and carers to help them understand what this means for their family and how they can help their children under 16 who will be impacted by the social media age restrictions. You can find a webinar created especially for parents, short videos and fact sheets here: https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/social-media-age-restrictions. #esafety @esafetyoffice #esafetycommissioner @followers06 Dec 2025
