CathWest accepts enrolments from Year 10 and offers two exciting learning programs that help prepare students for their senior career pathways - Trade Readiness or Inquiry. Our Loyola campus offers both Trade Readiness and Inquiry, while our McCarthy campus is focused on Trade Readiness.

Either way, this practical program gives students the chance to complete their mandatory Year 10 learning while also completing relevant industry recognised qualifications and getting a headstart on the skills and knowledge they need to pursue a trade.

Take part in rigorous trade induction courses that focus on practical skills
Benefit from industry placement and work days (from Term 2)
Undertake a Manufacturing Certificate I and a Construction Certificate I

INQUIRY PROGRAM FOR YEAR 10

Have you got a career in mind, but it isn't a trade?
Not sure exactly what you want to do yet?

This learning program is for students who want to explore their options and discover their interests. Students who choose this program can still choose from any career pathway in Year 11, including a trade.

  2. Complete work experience
  3. Be engaged through inquiry and project-based learning methods
  4. Enjoy a flexible 4 day week timetable
  5. Complete your ROSA credentials according to the NSW curriculum.
