Careers expo a hit for Western Sydney students

Hundreds of Western Sydney students from Years 9 to 12 and some who recently graduated, joined teachers, parents, carers, and educators at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta for the Beyond School, What's Next? Careers Expo hosted by Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD).

During the week YEAR 10 Inquiry were excited to attend the Aboriginal Culture Heritage Excursion hosted by Trent and Shi from @Koori Kinnections. Thank you also to@penrithcitycouncil for your coordination of the day. Students were taken on a guided bushwalk pointing out traditional uses of plants and how their people sustainability use our landscape. This was followed by a yummy morning tea of freshly made damper with native herbs and jams, and lemon myrtle lemonade. Students were given a guided weaving session, making a bracelet using traditional techniques. The afternoon session included a yarning circle where students were encouraged to ask questions and discuss indigenous topics. The day finished with an indigenous themed lunch of kangaroo salad, pasta with native species and roasted potatoes in native herbs. #penrithcitycouncil #koorikinnections #cspd2024
