Celebrating International Women's Day: Meet Gabby our Early Childhood Education & Care Teacher. 👶👧🧒 Teaching has shaped me into a woman who leads with both confidence, courage and compassion. It has taught me to use my voice, to advocate for those still finding theirs, and to challenge systems that were not designed for every learner to succeed. Whether that is in the classroom, supporting students in both diversity and wellbeing, and supporting young women's career journey (whatever it may look like) - I have learned that leadership is not about position but about influence, creating spaces where young women feel capable, seen and powerful in their own pathways. I am able to do this because of the women around me at CathWest. In the everyday moments, the check-ins, the sharing of ideas and resources, and the way we step in for one another when the workload is high, they model integrity, generosity and collective strength. With research showing younger teens are particularly vulnerable to algorithm-driven content (with many checking platforms over 100 times a day), the session will explain how responsibility now sits with social media companies and governments, not just parents.
