Our first WEXPO – The Student Edition engages Blacktown’s own popular Olympic diver and local business owner Melissa Wu. This lady is a star and a total inspirational icon.
Melissa will call on her vast experience to talk about her campaign over multiple Olympics, keys to developing a winning mindset, overcoming adversity and building a successful business. She is an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder and also competed on SAS Australia.

Josh and Melissa will take the students through some weightlifting fundamentals. Although weightlifting is a stand-alone sport, the weightlifting movements of snatch and clean and jerk are commonly used by athletes across all sports to improve strength, power, speed and coordination, which can help improve performance in all sports.
They will cover a few basic movement patterns that all children should be exposed to including body weight squats and overhead squats and then use wooden dowels (sticks) to introduce the students to basic weightlifting movements and technique. It will still be interesting even for those not taking part because they will learn about weightlifting.

School Holidays should be fun, so that is why @CathWest we offer Upskills Courses for high school students. 🙍♀️🙍♂️ Beauty by @limitlessbrows&beauty was a full class, our students learnt the techniques in providing a facial and how to apply make-up, focusing on making the eyes pop! These students all enjoyed an insight into the beauty industry. 💄👁 👁💄 Who doesn't enjoy a good hot chocolate or cappuccino? ☕ ☕ A skill every parent can appreciate, these students are now confident in making any type of coffee with an industrial coffee machine. ☕ ☕ For our creative students, #Max_towns a former student of @CathWest shared his ideas and enthusiasm for Character Illustration & Design, and how "everything is a shape". Today we welcomed students to our School Holiday Upskills courses. Hairdressing: A rep from De Lorenzo spoke about hair & scalp health and students were able to take a close look using technology that magnified their scalp, each student than had a chance to cleanse, treat and style each other’s hair in our very own CathWest hair salon. Barista: Hot Chocolate, Latte, Cappuccino, you name it these students can now make it! Here at CathWest we hold the Upskills Courses Term 1, 2 & 3 of the school holidays. Meet our young entrepreneurs from CathWest who engaged in a 6-week short course in how to start your own business.
